Stick to 32bit XP Home/Pro.
Ditch the Maxtors for WD or Seagate
Is that case ok?

Might want to consider Conroe.

He's already got the HD/CAse thats the prob.

Can you check the spec i done above - you know more about conroe than me, id expect.

Nope haven't used Conroes.
As for the Maxtor HD...just don't store anything important/non recoverable on it. Rubbish drives imo.

I agree, i prefer Samsung SP myself. He can always drop the E6600 for the E6400 and get the O/S and another drive. But id prefer the extra power of the E6600 for future use.

I only wants XP Pro 64 because of the X2 processor.

Thanks for all the specs you've all given me. Could anyone point me to any good ATI 1900 XT Reviews? I've really been a AMD for CPU and Nvidia for GFX kind of guy

So I need to explore the outer regions ^^

Yeah im an AMD Fan too..but has to be said, Conroe out-preform AMD in all aspects at the moment.

What has 64 bit version of windows got to do with the X2 processor? Nothing. The CPU is 64 bit, but driver support for XP64 is miles behind 32bit Windows. That 2GB is really only 1GB under XP 64. Dual core works fine under 32bit Windows.

Waste of time.

yeh mate stick with 32bit windows! The 6300 conroe should do u justise with a bit of tampering, u should get it to around 3ghz on air! which is awesome performance!!!

To syk3, about the DS3, i thought about DS4 with crossfire but the problem is u really dont need crossfire to play games, with an 1900xt that would pretty much destroy anything at the moment. and i know what your saying about an upgrade path but 4 months down the line when the 1900xt is struggling with games, u would be better off selling the 1900xt and buying the latest GPU! thats what i think anyway

btw nice sig syk3, is it a gears of war monster, cant wait for that game!!

im not sure, what a render i found on google so i added it to my sig..had the sig about a year or so now. so might not be :rolleyes:
