Help needed - Internet disconnectiing randomly

Posting this for a mate......

Basically i have a problem with being dissconnected from the internet. Its happening 3/4 times a day when im either browsing or playing games online.
Sometimes it just rights its self within a few seconds and i can contiune what im doing, then other times i have to reset the router.
My sister is running off the same router using a mac and she's not getting any problems at all.
My first thoughts would have been it was either a fault on the line or the router was playing up, but as she is having no problems im kinda stumped.
Ive reinstalled windows xp home again and thats made no difference, the only other thing im gonna go tomorrow is try a new ethernet cable.

Anybody got any ideas?
 
linksys router have problems with lots of connections on torrents, we need more info!!!

also try contacting the manufacturer
 
i get a lot of problems like this with my netgear router my isp is sky will it be better to get another router box what would people reconmend
 
Are you and your sister using the same router at the same time?

How are they both connected wired or wireless? Are you running torrents if so I reccomend you play with the "GLOBAL MAX CONNECTIONS" + "MAX PER TORRENT"

If your sisters computer is fine and yours isn't it's on your computers side, tried a different cable, have a spare LAN card to try?

Also you didn't state what router you had and have you updated the firmware on it too?
