I bought a pc from the net which has been fine until recently. The second grfx card is getting hot was getting up at 91 degrees the other was staying at around 50-60.
I am thinking there must be an issue with the water cooling in order to do this.
I have GTX 560Ti running SLI both with water blocks.
My question is do i need to take off the blocks? and stick them back on?
Do i need to buy thermal paste? i have no idea what i am doing with this side of things. Ive never water cooled before.
My processor stays a stead 38-41 degrees so that doesnt get too hot at all.

hi mate, what do you need to know i think they have an attachment coming from one to the other at the top (there is a tube). it goes from the reservoir to the first card then to the next then to the radiator fan
Water cooling is all new to me.

please note that the dust is now gone!

If that's the only radiator I'm surprised it ever kept two gpus cool.

edit: is there a 120mm rad in the front and the back? I assume the cpu is air cooled?

for cooling 2 gpus i would reccomend a 240mm radiator, putting some new thermal paste on,taking of the water block and cleaning them, putting some new fluid in,then checking the pump and pipes for blockages

if you are cooling the cpu aswell then use a 360mm or 240mm and 120mm together

CPU is water cooled, fans front and back.
As far as i am aware distilled water and a silver coil

if you are cooling the cpu aswell then use a 360mm or 240mm and 120mm together
what do you mean sorry im new to this,,,

both fans and radiators are 120mm

Plenty of fluid in the loop? As in can you see lots in the reservoir?

If its not been touched in a while it might need the fluid topped up.

youve seen the other side above with CPU
this is GPU side
The GPU closest to the picture is the one that gets hot.
it feels like the gpus arent cooling really, the liquid doesnt feel like its out of the reservoir like the cpu (bottom tube goes to CPU top to GPU)
ideas?

Ok so it looks like we're dealing with a pump/block combo on the CPU, going to first rad, then to GPU's then to second rad.

When you turn on the system do you see any bubbles or fluid movement in the res? Also while the system is on touch the top of the CPU block/pump and let us know if you feel any vibration.

Edit: It actually looks like its going Res>GPU>GPU>Rad>CPU/Pump>Rad>Res. Who made this for you? As it really should always start res>pump

Firstly we need to see if any components in the loop are damanged, can you check if the pump is working by following the above steps? (checking fluid movement and feel if the pump is vibrating.)

That black block in the middle of the motherboard (second picture you showed us) appears to be a CPU block and pump combo, you should be able to feel it vibrate slightly when its operating.

i hear water every now and again moving around too, like a burst. Likes its kicking in and cooling stuff around.
