Hi, I have an Enermax Aurora USB keyboard, an Abit IP35 Pro motherboard, Enermax galaxy 1KW PSU and running XP home.

My problem is that from time to time the pc makes the USB disconnect noise, the keyboard lights go out and stops working for a second then reconnects. Its not a major problem but it is annoying. Is there some option in XP or in the BIOS that I need to change or if not any other ideas why this happens or how to stop it?:confused:
Thanks.

don't think this keyboard is compatible, bought one off the bay. The keyboard lights go on but none of the keys work.:(

I've known USB to do that occasionally, never with a KB though. You could possibly try reinstalling the USB controller in device manager

Strangely enuff I've got a similar problem.

I ordered a Logitech G5. When it came, uninstalled old mouse software, plugged new mouse in, installed setpoint. The G5 decided it didn't like my black Icemat, so I thought I'd uninstall it and use the old mouse for now.

Ever since I uninstalled the setpoint software, my keyboard (Saitek Eclipse) which worked perfectly before does the same as the OP's.... USB disconnection noise, lights go off on keyboard, can't use keyboard *or* mouse, USB connection noise again and everything is back to normal.... for a while

a mate has that keyboard, he reckons he had a look around and its some what of a known issue he contacted enermax and they sent him a new one, all is now fine.
