So I've had a new clutch put in the focus (mk1 facelift) and have decided to keep it a while longer, so in the meantime I've decided to do some modding:

Now before people start calling me crazy, I know I should have had a heavy duty clutch fitted to handle the extra power rather than the standard replacement but I'll bear that responsibility.

I'm putting it down in the little tray at the bottom of the centre console and don't know where to route the probe wire to the exterior for the outside temperature. Apparently the best place is inside the front bumper but where do I route the wire? How about down through where the gearstick goes? If I pull up the leather gaiter at the bottom of the gearstick there is a hole.

I don't want wires everywhere, I've fitted car stereos many times before but not had to wire anything from the interior to the exterior so some help will be appreciated.

Thanks

There's likely to be a grommet where the gear cables route through the bulkhead before mating to the gearbox - you'd have to try and route your wire through this grommet with one of the cables or make another hole in it. Same if you were to go through the bulkhead with the main wiring from engine bay into the cabin.

In either case you may need to use some sealant where you've gone through to stop any water leaks.

May be some better info on www.fordownersclub.com
