Hi all, I really need some advice as my brain is spinning at a 1000 miles per hour trying to work this out.

I haven't owned a pc for approximately 10 to 12 years so I have no idea what is what anymore so hoping to pick at your brains.

I bought a pc from Overclockers last year and I need to upgrade my storage for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, will this NVME drive https://www.overclockers.co.uk/seag...solid-state-drive-zp500gm3a002-hd-3bv-se.html work with this motherboard https://www.asus.com/uk/Motherboards/PRIME-B360-PLUS/ ?

If it won't could you please recommend me a NVME drive that will, it would only be used for games. I don't understand all the numbers and Gens and am scared to order something that might not work. I am open to any suggestions but I've always used Seagate as I have never had one go bad of me before.

Thanks in advance for any help as i really need it.

Looks like it should work with that board but don't think you'll get top speeds better getting a gen 3 nvme mate as cheaper and will work at full capacity you could get a gen 3 1tb for same price as that drive have a look at wd drives

gen 4 is x570 boards and I think 550 boards
That one you've linked will work and its a bit cheaper than the first so you save money aswell
Shop around as sometimes on offer and cheaper

Be sure to install the drive into the M.2_2 socket, as this is the fastest one. Also make sure that you have the latest BIOS installed.

Thanks for the info darael, just updated the bios this second and all went well, I hope. As I was typing this the memory arrived so going to install it in a few minutes.

Everything seems to have gone well and the drive is installed and working. I cannot thank both of you enough for the help you have given me, it might not seem like much but it truly helped me a lot.

Thanks Alex h, your advice on the gen 3 and recommendation of which drive to get got me out of a brain spin I was in, for the life of me I couldn't work out the difference in the drives.

Thanks darael, your advice in regards to the bios update and m2.2 port was extremely useful and helped make things go so much smoother.

I ran some hard drive speed tests with a programme called CrystalDiskMark and the numbers it gave out showed the M2 drive is 4x faster than the Seagate SSD I have as my main drive.

Don't be fooled by the headline numbers. Real world usage has little, if any improvement when going from sata ssd to nvme ssd, when the main usage is for games.

Yeah it just confirmed that I had installed the drive correctly and it's working as it should. :)
