help needed

is their any chance someone help us out on oc manually
on the asus p8z68-v pro,2500k on auto i did get to 4.7 for a little while then things started to happen upon start up for windows got messed up.so i had to reinstall os.now all i want to get is around 4.5 on manual (as i have read somewhere asus ai suite is not safe on auto oc. and a lot are unistalling the software. not sure if thats right or not
anyway if anyone could help us get 4.5 i be happy chappy

Here's guide that shows you how to overclock a 2500K on a P67 chipset (they use an Asus as an example) - link.

The principles are the same as your z68 and 4.5GHz should be attainable but if you're having trouble keeping things stable drop to 4.4GHz as most SBs will achieve this with ease.

It's advisible to set your memory manually before you set your clock and make sure that it's stable below 1.58V when clocking the SB.
