Ill get straight to the point. Two days ago my pc unexpectedly switched itself off. Now every time I try to switch it on, the fans spin for a second and then nothing. When I then go to switch on again, nothing happens. I have taken out the battery on the mobo for 10 mins and replaced, and also tried to power the mobo up outside the case on the mobo box. None of this has worked and I'm still stuck with the split second fan spin, then nothing.

I'm at my wits end and need some advice. Only thing I can think of at the moment is buying a new psu, but don't want to go wasting money on something that might not be the problem.

Just like to add that when I press the power button ALL fans attempt to spin, including the psu fan.

Any ideas?

(Specs: mobo - gigabyte ga-z77-d3h
CPU - i5ivy
Psu - corsair cx600

Have you tested with only one memory module installed.

Do you have a multimeter and do the paper trick test on the PSU?

Iv tried booting up with only one memory installed and hasn't changed anything.

I'm not sure what a multimeter or the paper trick test is?
