Hello, i recently brought and built a PC from Overclockers, 26/07 the parts were delivered.
Well i built the PC and clean installed a bought version of Win8 oem. Once the drivers were installled. Well the crashes and bsod's began on first install of WIn8, Memory pool errors, Kernel Power failures many different random BSOD events, which happen at any time for any reason, or none at all.
I can be playing a game. watvhing a movie or just sitting looking at the screen and it MIGHT crash.
I then re-installed Win7 x64 after reading about how bad Win8 is. The problems continued, now i'm back on a clean install of Win8 again and still the same problems.
I'll turn off the PC and all is good, then i hit the power button and restart and i'll sometimes get a bsod and restart msg, in event viewer i find "Kernel POwer error 41 (63) Log Name: System

This is the same problem/error i have had since buildng the PC.
I build like so, fix everthing together, connect the cables to the correct parts and sockets, check it all once or twice then boot up.
Install Win OS.
Install network drivers off Gigabyte disk.
Install MSi liveupdate and run it for mobo drivers.
Install graphics card drivers via AMD website and newest CCC.
Then it'll start crashing.

Would just like to say all the above has been run at standard settings, tbh the system has not been stable enough for me to feel safe enough to mess with settings.

Still d/loadng drivers, the sound has packed up since i installed the sound drivers from the above site, its saying all my devices are wrong......I know how this ends, a clean running but poorly system ends up a right mess and totally unstable due to much messing with drivers.....Help.

Just switched on the PC after a normal shut down yesterday evening and had another Kernel Power error.........

Im sorry mate, i don't understand that, i have all the mobo settings, everything actually on the system set as standard, i went into the mobo bios yesterday and set everything to "Optimized defaults" simply to check i hadn't ****ed something up, i havn't though i dont think.
ATM i'm trying to fin
d out whether my memory is incompatible with the mobo, according to gigabyte/patriot website it is.
My bios says im running 1600mhz and 1.50v on the memory. SO does easytuine, i ran that just for the meter readings.
 
I've had these problems since i bolted the system together, two different os's and various drivers, its never been stable, i ran memtest 86 for an hour and a ahlaf yesterday and it came up clean.
As soon as i get windows booted im into event viewer, thats been crashing too lately funnily enough lol. MBI or something...
 
Ok, my bios XMP is on and set itslef to profile 1, voltage and mhz are saying 1.5v and 16oomhz. There's two sticks of 4gb. Paired and in the correct slots i think, blue slots.
There's timing settings for the memory in bios, in folders 1 and 2'ish those settings are all grey and un touched by me.
I'm sorry about this lads and ladies, after a few months of us os and pc it gets into your sytem if you know what i mean :/
 
Oracle that post is saying that the guy had the best results/a stable system when he was running OC, yet on standard settings his system was unstable?
 
TBH mate i'm too worried to do anything now, i'm either very confused or my memory slots are running at the wrong settings, i've posted about it in Memory and Motherboards, also tech help :D

Gigabyte likes to confuse things i think, what would be slot 3+4 to me is 1+2 to gigabyte :D
 
They are both in the white slots, i wonder why memtest was giving different results, any idea why this pc keeps crashing? Had two bsods starting up the pc to d/load cpu-z.
 
So i just go into bios and up the voltage to 1.55v on ram, do i need to alter anything else?
It's the weirdest crashing, i played bf4 beta for 4 hours and everything was fine, today it takes 3 attempts to boot up, other times it'll boot fine and then die when firefox opens or i move the mouse, Most times it starts up, gets to desktop then bsods and continues a loop.
SO we've ruled out the memory being dodgy now?
I'm sorry if i come accross as a ****, i am one but i'm also very puzzled :D

Many thanks for your help here wazza300 and you hit the nail on the head it seems, one of my memory sticks is knackered.
I took out one stick, ran it in slot 1 or amd 0 whichever, got a bsod, swapped the same stick into slot 3 or amd2 and had another bsod.
Swapped memory sticks and repeated and no crashes.
I'm taking the pc to a mates today, he owns a pc shop and said he'll have a mooch through this thing.
Once again thanks wazza300 your the only person who bothered themselves with a numpties questions :D Kudos to you mate.
 
Hope so, im chatting to customer services atm so hopefully I can soon get this pc running as its supposed to, its a good system, runs bf4 beta at 60fps on win7x64 and 80fps on win8, all with standard settings and a busted mem stick :D
