Finally put my build together but it's showing red cpu error on the motherboard which is normal because I've put a 3700x into a MSI B450 Tomahawk.

I have a bios on a usb but I have no display at all, whether its onboard with the gpu inserted but unplugged, or the gpu (Palit 2070 super) fully connected.

Please help!!

Have you updated to a 3rd gen Ryzen compatible BIOS?

is your psu new? check the power cables fully connected to the mobo and GPU. check the dp cable from the gpu to the monitor. check the monitor is powered up.

Ah, ok so renamed the rom. It's now flashing as we speak.

Just odd I have no display and the fans.. all of them at 100%

That normal?

Although you've got no other option and definitely need a 3rd gen Ryzen compatible BIOS to use the 3700X, annoyingly MSI seems to have acknowledged that their current BIOS versions for the B450 Tomahawk are problematic when paired with a 3rd gen Ryzen CPU:

Some users seem to have triggered above linked problems after they enabled pre-set XMP RAM settings. It may just be total coincidence or user error, but if you get PC up and running on these current BIOS versions, you might want to avoid using any XMP settings until MSI releases a more stable BIOS, just to be on the safe side.
