Help: Noise from PC PSU on AV Receiver

I have a Corsair HX850 PSU in my PC, I have a HDMI connection to my PC.

Since I fitted the Corsair I've had a noise if I shut my PC down this horrible screech comes out my speakers, if I turn off the PSU at the wall the noise goes away when the capacitors discharge (15 seconds).

Now on my new Anthem when I use my Arcam power amps I have a hiss, disconnecting the HDMI from the PC stops the hiss. I'm sure the hiss is also from the Corsair.

Anyone had any experience of this? I have emailed Corsair but not sure they will be interested. I didn't get the screech on my old Be Quiet PSU, not sure if this hiss would be there.

I could buy another PSU, but the Corsair is meant to be good and is only 18 months old.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated. Thanks

Probably rules out a ground loop then. I'm assuming you are using analogue connections not digital.

I'm only using digital audio out from my PC.

HDMI from the graphics to the AV Receiver, also have USB to a DAC to my Integrated amp.

I have my old Be Quiet PSU in the cupboard, I will see if it still works later and see if I can make it power my PC and see if the noise is gone.

Corsair have replied and given me an RMA number, trouble is they want me to send it to the Netherlands, I can see that being expensive. Not sure they will spot the fault either, or they might just replace it like for like, but then what if all these models are the same?

Also don't really want my PC to be down for weeks.

I might order a BeQuiet Pure Power L8 630W from OcUK, £80 isn't too bad.

Doesn't look like the PSU is at fault, it does it with the Be Quiet too.

I have a USB DAC, removing the USB cable also stops the noise.

I'm thinking motherboard, I also changed this just before I got the PSU.

It isn't my PC at all, I tried with a laptop and still get the hiss.

I think it may be a ground loop issue. I'm going to buy a ground loop isolator and try that between my 2 amps.

Not sure which one to go for.

I found one by Xitel but no reliable UK sellers, cheap in Australia though. This one is good as it has the cables.

There are 2 on the Rainforest site

Behringer MICROHD HD400
Cables To Go Stereo Audio Isolation Transformer

Both of these would need an additional cable which to match my current cables will cost me £50.

I had this problem I tracked it down to the kitchen under cabinet lights as soon as these were turned off the noise went away. Strangely it only affected one of my power amps that ran the centre speaker, I narrowed it down to a single light and replaced it.

I would unplug all the other transformers in the house to see if one of these is causing it as it might be a cheap fix.
