Hi everyone.
New to the forum having just picked up a new tower today for my lad.
Everything looks great but one major issue - nothing showing on monitor!!
Tried different hdmi cables, pda cable - nothing.
Tried a second monitor and nothing either.
Same cables plugged into laptop work fine so no problems there.
I was told when I collected it that it should simply plug and play (preinstalled Windows 11) but I can’t get the thing to work.

Looks nice though.

Process of elimination makes me think there’s no display coming out of new tower (it’s a prebuilt Overclockers Quartz). It’s not super high spec compared to many others but as a first gaming computer for my son it will hopefully be something to build on in the future - if we can get it to work.

Can anyone suggest what I can check or will I simply have to contact customer services to find out what to do?

Hey there - do you need to install Windows?

Sometimes, monitors won’t display the bios through display port and only kick in when you reach windows. I encountered that problem this week. Have a Google and you’ll see many people having the same issue with display ports.

Try a HDMI cable (from your TV or whatever) if you haven’t tried that already.

Just an idea!

Ima guess the graphics card is not correctly seated, or one of the power cables connected to it aren't fully inserted
you know how graphics card just push into a slot right? give it a gentle push further into the case and see if it makes a click sound.

don't wiggle it up or down, just a gentle but firm push, you might wanna do the same with the power cables that attach to it as well.

you don't need to pull the card out just make sure its properly pushed in

graphics cards don't just pull out btw, there;s a plastic tab on the slot you have to press, or it's locked in there so don't try yanking it out blindly! there should be 0 reason for you to remove it from the slot anyway.

I just wanna be clear about that before you break something.

Thanks for the reply and advice.
I’m new to this, as is my lad so we’re on a learning curve.
Everything appears plugged and clipped as it should.
Having said that we purchased it a prebuilt system so are still learning about it. Not sure where bits are or how they should look etc.
Any other advice greatly recieved.
Thanks

Some of this depends on how comfortable you are with PC tinkering. Some things you.might not wantto do so just call customer service.

What are the specs of the PC?

Is cable in the correct port? If you have a GPU it should be in there, if not it should be in the motherboard port.

Assuming it has a dedicated GPU:
Does it have power? do lights come on or fans spin? are the power cables firmly seated?

Does there appear to be any cables that are loose? Is the memory firmly seated and clipped in?

If the CPU has onboard iGPU then try removing the dedicated GPU, try to boot with the cable in the motherboard port. If nothing try resetting the CMOS and try again.

Do you have any other GPU to test with?

The pc does power on right? and it's not something dumb like the power switch on the back of the computers power supply is off

Assuming it powers on and the monitor shows no signal, then there's so less that should have gone wrong between you picking it up and unpacking it.

The case isn't stopping the DP/HDMI cable from fully seating in the graphics card?
assuming you have a mouse connected to the pc move it around as well, see if that makes the signal come alive.

The odds are since you said you picked it up, the problem isn't a hardware one.
