Right, so I turn on my PC and windows boots up fine. I log onto my account, and I am displayed with nothing but my wallpaper (no icons, or taskbar). I can open task manager and run programs that way (how ive got FF open now ^_^) but how can i fix this problem?

Is explorer.exe running in task manager? If not you can start it by going to the New Task in task manager and entering explorer.exe

Just a quick idea.

Strange...so it isn't running at the moment in the process list?

Can you see if explorer.exe is still in your windows folder? It might be corrupted. What did you do last time the system was working fine?

Played CS, browsed the internet and used MSN o.O - Same as i normally do.

Fixed it - System Restore ***.
