ok.. i 've spend days reading almost every post in here regarding TFT...

in addition i 've read quite a few reviews as well on reliable sites.

bottom line I am between these 3:

1. Hyundai N91W
2. Samsung SM-940BW @ http://www.samsung.com/uk/products/monitors/lcd/wide/ls19hawcshedc.asp?page=Specifications
3. Acer AL1916W @ http://www.acer.co.uk/acereuro/page...en&ctx3=-1&ctx4=United+Kingdom&crc=1875013320

:o prerequisite is to be widescreen.
Now do you think 16.2 million colors really makes a difference?
from the lot only the acer is 16.7

use would be movies, gaming and internet.

could you commetn on these three.. pros cons and which u would go for..?

tnx all

The Acer is probably 16.2M as well. They can say it supports 16.7M colours simply because you can set your PC to 32 bit colour depth when using it, even when it only displays 16.2M unique colours. As it happen the 16.2 M colour thing isn't the main weakness of TN anyway, it's the viewing angles.

calum do you have the Hyundai..?

I am getting inclined towards the acer... they say display type TN+film... which i guess it is gonna give a bit more vibrant colors...
and i found it at just 136£ incl VAT that is a smashing price ofr its specs imo

All three are TN+Film. TN is just short for TN+Film. Acer make cheap screens, get one of the other two. The Hyundai seems to be highly regarded round here.

I heard good things about the Hyundai but it doesnt have any VESA holes which is a BIG minus for me.. and not only that, i cant even find it on the manufacturer's site.

I think for a cheap 19" W the acer is ok when it comes to value.
i also discovered this one: Cibox C1905 for 125£ google it!

so I am between those 2 (acer and Cibox) for cheap choices

any suggestions at the 160£ range that can offer better value than the Samsung???

Got the hyundai sitting in front of me - really vibrant colour and with a fast refresh time and dvi input, for the price i don't think it can be beat. Got it for £135 inc vat if memory serves me correctly - great deal.
