im using a p4 3.2ghz 1tb
my graphics card is only a fx5200.
i beilive its a AGP.
what is the best graphics card i can get that is agp ?

thanks for looking !! ;);)

I wouldn't waste your money on old AGP, although something like a AMD (ATI) 3850 or 4670 are possibly the highest cards I've seen with AGP (may be wrong).

You would be better off upgrading your CPU/motherboard/ram and getting a PCI-E graphics card though in the long run.

As above with the cards that are available. Both very expensive options considering the amount of relative graphical power the cards have. The 4670 will be probably the best option as it's newer tech than the 3xxx series.

I had a HD3850, worked okay and did what I asked - was badly bottlenecked by cpu though, the same CPU as you have!

Could run Fallout 3 on high and get stable 30+ fps.

Ironically its up for sale atm ;)

How much we talking cookeh ;)?
and i know there are so many Gfx cards available im unsure on witch one to get to be honest. i installed the 4gb ram and worked wonders.
considering getting a HD3850 / 7800GS / Unsure yet :/ :(

Currently £35 including delivery.

But its pretty much bare card as can't find box atm :p Drop me an e-mail in trust if you're interested!

It means the P4 will hold back the 3850 from using its full power as it tries to keep up with it, meaning the performance will be limited. What motherboard do you have? You might be able to upgrade your CPU as well.

Can't find a CPU support list for the board...

Honestly, don't bother buying a new GPU for the system, it's not worth it anymore. Just save up for a brand new system.

i just want a gpu for now as i want to play mw2 even if its low settings. and cod 4 and maybe a little need for speed something like that . obviously it aint going to be super fast but something for now as i am saving for a monster pc ;) i7 cumm on roll on compo ;)
