help on awkward situation

A couple of weeks ago I booked flights for 11 people to Poland. One of the guys is meeting us at the airport then has other arrangements in Poland.

I have sorted accomodation already so just need paying in full when we get there (apart from the deposit ive paid)

We are flying from Luton airport which is where the problem is. 6 of us are in Leeds and 4 in Nottingham. We have 1 car in Leeds which can take only 3 people plus luggage because its knackered

I looked into a minibus and cheapest I could get was £390 return for 2 pickups on the way and 2 dropoff on the way back. I said the 6 in leeds pay £45 and the 4 in notts pay £30 each

A couple of people in Nottingham dont want to pay for a minibus as they can drive and park there for about £15 each.

We plan on driving 3 cars down from Nottingham. However this then means 3 people in Leeds would have to get return train tickets for £30 each plus busses from/to the station

What is the best way to tackle this? There are 3 of us in a house, 2 of us have sorted it all, the other 3 in Leeds havent asked about how we are getting to Luton and just presume they are hopping on a flight to Poland.

Its a bit harsh asking them to get a train down to notts but if they didnt it would bump the cost up by about £150. The notts lads say its not really fair getting the minibus even with them paying less, because they can go a lot cheaper in a car. This screws people in leeds though
 
Its complicated because the flight is at 8.15am. The cheapest super offpeak return is £75 and arrives at 00.42 at luton airport. I wouldnt be too happy about this personally

No, it isn't.

Ibis Hotel Luton Airport. £74 a night for a twin room so £37 each. Couple of Advance Singles Leeds to Luton Airport Parkway and return £63 return.

Total cost each person based on two sharing a room 100 quid.

£100 to get to and from the airport for a foreign holiday inc hotel accomodation is reasonable.

There, problem solved.

Personally this timing seems ok to me, i always like to arrive on the earlier side, and whats a few hours reading a book or browsing the net at the airport anyway? Maybe they feel the same way ^^?

I wouldn't have an issue. Take a book and newspaper. There'll be a bar there. Just chill out. If it means saving a fair wedge then I'd do it. (Or beg on here for someone to give me a lift ;))

everything seems to be based around saving cash so why dont they get the national express to luton , you would be going in a minibus anyway

or pay the notts lads the £15 they would be 'loosing out on' if they are reall that bothered

this is what we usually do i theres more than 5 going somewhere

and if someones turns mentally retarded during the organisation (always happens!) we help them out with a link to the bus/train they need

National express is cheap. Try that, but jesus, are these other people kids? Can't they sort it out themselves?
 
Why do you need to sort out other peoples arrangements to get to the airport?

Tell them to sort it out themselves, i'm sure they're old enough to figure out how best to get themselves to an airport.
