Help on building PC?

Could you suggest an alternative 'A grade' mobo that is pretty much the same?

That would be the Asus LX2 I used earlier. I wouldn't bother with an AMD build myself.

Why not do an i5K build and set it up using the integrated graphics? Rather than upgrade to the i7 you could just get a GPU to suit your budget instead. The 650Ti you wanted isn't great to be honest, you can get 2nd hand bargains like the 1GB 460 for £50ish 2nd hand (comparison HERE). The 460 also overclocks well, I still own one myself. The best GPU to look at really is the 7870LEs which can be overclocked to 7950 speeds.

Ok, thanks... but I lost you. So this is what I'm getting now. Will I need the BIOS update or ask customer services anything? And most importantly will it work?

I'm really not sure about intergratde graphics though, is the build you said better?

The 6300 performs excellently in almost all recent console type games, but not well in poorly optimised CPU intensive games that only use 1-2 cores (these are mostly older). Crysis 3 is mostly unplayable on an i3, and the early benchmarks for BF4 say the same for that.

A load of benches showing good performance in these kind of games:

Where the 6300 isn't given, overclocked to 4.5GHz it performs more or less the same as an 8350.

Main advantage is cost, and you can upgrade to the next FX generation when it's out on the same board, or skip that and get the one after.

No bios update is needed, though it will be to support the next gen of course. That's expected later this year.

Without a cooler you won't be able to overclock much, but a £25-£30 one would do for up to 4.7GHz.

You could drop the GPU to a 7790, which is £90 and better than the 650 ti you originally wanted.

You're not going to get a monitor new for under £50 - you can get ok ones for about £80-£90.

Maybe drop the optical drive? I can't remember when I last used mine.

A b-grade 7850 is an option too, they seem to be about £120.

I would save a bit more and get something like this. And you can sometimes get a decent 24" monitor for about £120.

When I built my first system, I got a few specs to get an idea of what I could get and cost. Then saved till I had the money. Then I shopped around to get all the best deals at the time and saved quite a bit. But then that`s me, always looking for a bargain.
