Help on fresh install on a Dell

Really need todo a fresh install for my dad on his cough dell cough.

Never done one before.

Is it case of just inserting the dell recovery disc and clicking away.

Read online about iso's burning images etc.

Any help would be great :)
 
There will either be a set of recovery discs that came with it, a recovery partition on the disk or you'll need to burn your own recovery discs. Remember to back anything up you need to keep first.
 
If you've no recovery disks just put the serial/tag into the dell euro support site and it'll give you a list of all drivers you need.

If you have Win Vista, or 7, press F8 on boot, and select Repair your computer.

Should just be a windows disk, put that in, boot from it, delete/formst partitions and install. Download drivers from dell website (or use the dell driver disk)
