K heres the info

My pc wont power up properly. When i turn it on it powers up and all fans etc turn but theres nothing on monitor, the monitor just stays on standby and then after about 10-20secs the pc turns off by itself.

The only thing of note is that just before this happened I was using the pc and all of a sudden it detected new USB devices and then the monitor went into standby and the reset button wouldnt work. Now the pc wont start for more than 10-20 secs..

Any thoughts or things I should try?

Edit/Update I have tried a different gfx card , I have also tried plugging only one of my sata Hd in. Both HDs are powering on etc when on there own. The ram sticks have a small light which is working on both sticks.

GFx card fan is going
CPU fan is going
PSU fan is going - But is it possible this has given up the ghost?
Also im getting No bleeps at all.

My rig is in my sig as well.

Im just wondering does it sound like a Mobo problem? If so can any 1 recommend a good replacement Mobo that would have AGP and Pci-e(If thats possible) as my current gfx card is agp also that would take all my current hardware in my current rig.

Also if it is a Mobo problem what replacement gfx/mobo/cpu and if need be ram do you guys recommend? At similar performance. Also would My current case hold a new setup? Its the old Antec p160.

K im definately leaning towards a new Mobo/cpu and Gfx card.

But would the rest of my rig be compliant with a new Pci-e mobo

Antec true blue 480w PSU - need adaptors for new power connections?
Antec p160 case
SB Audigy2 ZS
2x sata HDDs
1GB Geil pc3500 golden dragon 433mhz 184pin

I would try checking that things like your CPU fan and CPU power connector are in properly. Try taking one stick of ram out and using one, then try just using the other, just because the lights on doesnt mean its working!

Thx ill try more in depth testing and get back to ya :)

K ive checked all power connections and there all solid none loose, Also tried powering up with just the basic components cpu/gfx/my xp HDD and floppy. tried just using 1 stick of ram in each of the 3 slots I have, did this with each of the 2 sticks I have.

Same thing every time, all fans turn, HDDs work and ram lights come on but power only stays on for about 10-20 secs and for this time nothing appears on the monitor and then the comp shuts off.
If its mobo gone, instead of trying to get another MSI K8n Neo plat, ill rather buy more futureproof mobo/cpu and gfx card instead.

Is there any chance that if it is the Mobo that it would cause damage to my 2 sata HDDs?

any idea guys on possible new replacements? and any power adaptors i might need to use my older PSU with the new gear?

Oh and my current system is with a friend who has his own Pc shop so i can find out exactly whats fried and wats not.
