Hey all

I am downgrading from an i5 2500k to an i3 setup. I never really use my Pc for anything other than browsing, downloading and watching the odd avi file.

I currently have an ssd, hdd, 4gb ddr3, keyboard, mouse and win 7.

I basically need advice on CPU, micro mobo, psu and case. Can I get anything half decent for around £200?

I am a little out of touch these days so any help would be great

Thanks

YOUR BASKET
1 x Intel Core i3-2120 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - Retail £86.39
1 x Cooler Master Silent Pro Modular 500W '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply £49.99
1 x MSI H61M-P31-G3 Intel H61 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard £35.99
1 x OcUK Flamingo FM-12A Midi Tower Case - Black/Red £21.98
Total : £207.85 (includes shipping : £11.25).

Pretty much all the cheapest parts. If I were you I'd save some more money and get yourself a better power supply and case, otherwise the motherboard and processor are fine. Also, Ivybridge i3's are predicted to come out soon so might be worth waiting. Selling your i5, you could keep the motherboard it is in?

bit confused. What would be the net profit of downgrading and going i3?

Why not just get a micro case and motherboard, selling the left overs?

Or do nothing and maybe sell the GPU if you have one that's no use to you?
