Hi guys, I have an issue with my works computer not booting windows 7.
We had a lightning strike a couple of weeks ago which meant i had to repair my PC. In the meantime I borrowed my gfs dads computer and plugged my HDD in and off I went.

However now my computer is fixed when i plug the HDD into that it will boot to the windows logo and then freeze and switch back to booting again.
I opened up boot logger and it stops every time on CLASSPNP.sys.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Thanks for that link ill give it a go!
Yes I was booting fine with my HDD on the GFs dads PC yet now its not working when I plugged it into the new works pc.

Hang on, is this a new PC at work or the old one repaired (with the same Chipset)?

Maybe try booting in safe mode with networking, download the latest Chipset drivers and try it then.

Also, if it boots in safe mode, it may be AHCI related. There's a registry hack for that...

Most likely you will need a reinstall though.

Not a new PC but its a new CPU, mobo, PSU and RAM.
It wont even boot into safe mode but it is a newer chip so I think its just thrown a wobbly and im going to have to reinstall it.
