Hi all,

Built my new rig Thursday (Haven't built a PC in 10 years!)

I5-4690k
GTX970 (OC cooler edition)
AOC G2460PG GSYNC monitor

However, i'm having a few issues with some games.

Skyrim - despite searching online and trying a few solutions, i'm still getting issues with flickering water and sound and crazy problems with the physics.

BF4 - flickering/artifacts - but only when sniping....

Any help would be great?

Thanks

I believe Skyrim is like Fallout 4 in that you can't run above 60hz as the game world is tied to the FPS you are getting.

update.

I only get this issue running in 1080. If I set the res higher, it goes away, but gsync obviously isnt working (laggy input) as it can only deal with 1080p right?

Turn off Vsync in Skyrim and get a framerate limiter and cap the framerate to 60fps (75 tops).

Vsync potentially gives input lag and over 60fps Skyrim's physics engine will go nuts, graphics will get freaky too.

Freesync works fine with Skyrim at 1440p, no idea about Gsync

Ive found with gsync, cap the frame rate slightly below the monitors Hz rate. In my case as an rog swift owner, i use 135 fps in games. If it's a 60hz monitor, use 59 fps as the cap.

If you want to limit your frame rate in games look at MSI Afterburner and install the RTSS component that will allow you to cap frame rates in games.

ca't see if anyone has mentioned this but, you should always turn vsync OFF within the game - the gsync on/off and vsync on/off options should be set within nvcp, and then vsync should always be turned off in game

as others have mentioned, if you turn off vsync in NVCP you should then use a frame limiter to prevent it going above the gsync limit

I downloaded NVIDIA inspector, forced V-SYNC off and locked the frames to 78 max. The game still feels a little "slow" compared to running it unlimited, but the glitching has stopped.
