Hi Folks,

I have just put together a HTPC with a 4200 in it and I just want to give it a little boost (don't want to push it too much since I still want silent running etc).

I don't know anything about overclocking amd CPUs since my gaming/ overclocked PC was a 775 now i7.

How far should this cpu get to on stock volts (roughly?). Also what is the maximum safe temperature under prime 95 this CPU should hit?.

Thanks

Matt

There some basic info in this old Opty overclocking thread here. You should be able to hit 2.5-2.6GHz on stock volts I reckon. As for temps, you don't want to exceed 65c whilst running small ffts.
