Help, partialy bricked M8 after firmware update

Checking the Viper thread it recommends following these steps for updating the firmware, which should fix your wifi problem: http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/development/progress-fuu-m8-t2813792

Download links here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1aNd_nm4Em1wamRLFT7qHM2c3O9_sg_H3ztBrGq1u9Ws/pubhtml

Make sure you flash the latest international file which is 4.16.401.10.

I noticed at the beginning of the thread you flashed a very early version which could be why it bricked your phone (You downgraded it :p). And it may still be using those old files....

If that doesn't work, then I suggest flashing the RUU zip I posted earlier to fully return to factory Sense stock, let it OTA update it to the latest version (which will also update the firmware), and then begin flashing a custom ROM after.

Thanks again, think you may be right re; the firmware - when rebooting it freezes on a blank bootloader screen, I had to get around it by re-flashing viper which I could do via the TWRP, as it was still present.

No wifi and having to re-flash and start from scratch after a reboot is no exactly convenient!
