help pc keeps re-booting

im asking for a friend as his pc keep re-booting after he starts a game or runing windows index score,he thinks he need a new power supply.
his pc was from pc world,it was i7 4gb ddr3 with a nvidia 220gt card and a 300watts power supply he brought a ati 5850 to replace his old card but had to get a bigger power supply so a friend gave him a old 600watts it work fine for months but now it keeps re-booting.what power supply should he go for?

antec TP-650, £65. Can xfire two 5850's.

If that's indeed a PSU problem, which seems to point towards it.

I have had a similar problem where before windows xp load in it keeps booting, I had to recover the whole PC like new to fix it.

What power supply is it? It does sound like a power problem.
