Afternoon all,
Posting this on behalf of my dad who's brand new work laptop seems to have gone kaput. It's a Dell Latitude E6500 and it's his work computer so this need to be sorted ASAP.
He's recently been made redundant so i'm hoping that i'll be able to fix it myself and repair would be a last resort.
Problem:

The two bottom buttons, left and right click only seem to work when opening something from that's minimized on the taskbar in Windows 7. He can open up any documents he's minimized and that it. When he's on the internet and he left clicks on Google search to type something in, the mouse changes into that mode where it scrolls down the page. And on anything else it simply doesn't work so he has to use the keys above the touchpad.
So far i've tried the following:
None of the above have worked
He's not installed anything dodgy or been on any dodgy websites, that's his work laptop which is strictly for work only.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

So far i've tried the following:
- Default all the settings in the options.
- Disable then re-enable the mouse.
- Try to update the drivers/rollback.
