Hi all

I'm looking to sort out a new PC as sick of crappy laptops !! I don't really game that much at all to be honest mainly home music, pic, video editing with the odd bit of photoshop and may play the odd game here and there.

I have a budget of £450

I have already got the following.

Bitfenix merc alpha case
128 Samsung pro ssd
1gb hard drive
Blueray drive
Windows 7

meant to say my only request would be for it to be fairly quiet

Any help much appreciated

Thanks for reply,

Which power supply should I get? Also this is my first build and I'm worried about compatibility problems.

Does this motherboard have onboard graphics that I can use to get by and buy a graphics card in few months?

Soz couple more things,

do I need a CPU cooler?

Anything else for the build ie which thermal paste and stuff sox for all the noob questions is my first build

Sorry, over looked the Psu while searching for a Gpu. Have included a decent cooler and most after market coolers come with paste or pre-applied. I`ve gone with an IB build as the new Haswell takes you over budget. And the mobo has an iGpu.

YOUR BASKET

1 x Asus P8Z77-V LX Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard £85.99
1 x Patriot Viper "Black Mamba" Generation 3 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (PV38G160C9K) £49.99

You might also want to get another fan, as the Alpha only comes with one. Will help with the cooling.

the type of games I play are the first person shooters, but if im honest im doing the knowledge at mo so dont really get time to game. probably not for next year or so just need as much bang for my buck to futre proof

Would i be better off looking at AMD?
