Evening all,

Installed the new 258.96 WHQL drivers for my BFG 295, re-started the computer and now I have no picture, can't even see the BIOS start up screen however the machine boots fine.

Tried the following:

- Safe mode holding F8. Assuming it does go into it as i can hear the HDD clicking, again can't see as I have no picture.

- Tried VGA and DVI cables, no picture.

- Took the card out and cleaned it and the PCI-E slot, re-sat it and still nothing.

- Tried the on-board VGA display at the back. Worked before but I don't know how you swith to it without looking at the acreen. Did it though holding F8 ages ago but obviously now I can't see owt.

According to my Gigabyte board manual, it's the card however it worked fine until I restarted the machine. The beeps go like this;

beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep-beep-beep

One long and two short I think, however the last two sound like a stutter. Running XP x64 bit.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as i've got eBay stuff ending tonight and posting this off a PS3 isn't the easiest thing to do.

Regards, Pat.

Sorry to bump but now I htink my computer has gone **** up.

Tried re-seating the card and clearing the CMOS and still nothing. I managed to get a picture with the on-board ATi so I uninstalled the N-Vidia drivers and turned the computer off. When I turned it back on the 1st boot BIOS screen is all corrupt. It only does one beep now but the writing is all messed up and corrupted. I'll try and post a picture later as my phone is charging now.

Any idea what it could be? Is my mobo knackered?

Can't now, the computer hangs on a ****ed BIOS screen. Tried ti with the CMOS battery in and out, and with the 295 installed too, pretty much every combination and still nothing. No idea what to do :(

well looking here http://www.pchell.com/hardware/beepcodes.shtml
you either have gpu or mobo problem

I think it would be horrible luck if both 295 and onbooard broke at same time so most likely is mobo. If you can be bothered maybe just worth taking out ram and just testing one stick, its a long shot but mobo replacement is the most annoying problem

Will do mate, thanks. I'll post a picture/video of the problem later if I can. Weird how all of a sudden it's failed on me, all I did was install the new NVidia drivers and restart and it's gone **** up since then.

Thanks.

Sorry to bump but re-sat all my RAM sticks and cleaned the system out a little bit and so far it's working fine on the on-board ATi. When I put the 295 in it just gives me the beeps. Downloaded the older drivers for it and tried to install them but it gives me an error saying they're incompatible due to me using the ATi.

Any way round this so I can install them properly whilst using the on-board card or do I need to RMA my card?

Throw the faulty 295 in the bin and go buy another video card.
If your getting BIOS beep errors saying that your video card may be faulty then trying to mess with drivers once in Windows is utterly pointless.
