hi can anyone match this spec hw91 made for me? I want a future proof extreme gaming rig that will play all the latest games on the highest settings also want to play flight sim games like flight sim x etc, also will be doing some home recordings guitars and mics using sony acid pro DAW software, I am open to AMD suggestions as I beleive they are more futureproof and Ive heard ATI gpus are better than nvidia, but also heard intel is better for recording, I am really not swayed either way so any suggestions are apreciated, I will try to explore overclocking but will more than likely use the preset overclocking on the motherboard software and want sli or crossfire for the future, oh and also need windows 7, can up my price to £1200 at a push

future proof isn't Intel, its AMD.

but just for you.

hi mate thanks for the quick reply, I thought u couldnt use ATI cards crossfire with intel chipsets? also mate why have you put 2 hard drives? also will games in the future be more dependant on how many cores u got?

You can use Crossfire on Intel chipset :) The P55* & X58 range can do SLI & Crossfire.

The SSD will be for Windows and the Seagate would be used for storage ect.

* Some boards can only do Crossfire.

Intel chipsets(certain chipsets) do both sli and crossfire, its AMD that hates Nvidia so much that sli is a NO NO.

and theres one fast SSD with enough room for windows and about four games, and a 500gb storage drive.

I do have an alternative slightly cheaper build up my sleeve.

why what benefits does it have using a seperate drive for windows?

also wouldnt the F3 spin point hdd be faster at 32mb and only 3 quid more?

all the 500gb drives, not sure about the blacks are 16mb, and you just wont notice the difference between the F3, seagate and WD Black.

Being SSD this allows the programs you want to be installed on a fast drive including the operating system and the rest on the "slower" mechanical drive.

One thing I find helpfull is if windows crashes or you want to re-install you don't need to worry about loosing your data.

But you will need to back up anyway, just gives piece of mind :)

if i upgraded when i started running out of space could i buy a new drive then? and just add on to it?

yep, just add it into the case, attach a sata and power cable, format it, done.

you can still leave the 500gb in there.

used it in an earlier thread.

its a pre-overclocked at 4ghz bundle.

single fast graphics card, the motherboard wont do any dual card option, so have reduced the psu spec to match.

slightly bigger SSD
