Hi need some help not sure what to do with pc. Put new G/card in earlier all fine but went to play songs PC didnt see the 3rd drive. Thought I must have disconnected a wire somwhere by accident. Checked all the sata leads make sure intact (did this by pulling out and reinserting withpc off) now wont even boot says I have a problem with the array.

Can anybody please help me get various messages through out boot which culminates in NTLDR is missing. I can put up messages butnot sure what you guys need to see to help.

Could really do without wiping everything and also the 3rd drive has all saved data on so need to get that back so any help would be very gratfully appreciated.

Thanks all

First message reads when it boots up up scan devices please wait..
Serial_ch0 master no device
Serial_ch1 master no device

Then goes to show array and comes up 2+0 stripe offline!

Hope that gives you more info

When trying to boot from XP CD message comes up that windows cannot find any installed drives? Could the promise raid drivers have stopped working? If I plug both the cables into the other SATA controllers it sees the drives but will not boot as the bios is not loaded?

Will try to load new promise drivers tomorrow and see what happens info should still be on the drives I hope

The NTLDR error is usually because the system cannot see hard drives which were attached during the Windows install. For some reason, Windows puts files on (I think) all hard drives connected during installation, and if the drive goes missing then it returns an error and won't boot.

Perhaps the BIOS has reset for some reason, and RAID isn't activated? Worth checking the BIOS settings to make sure everything is ok.

Not sure where it will be, but basically you're looking to turn RAID on and ensure that it's seeing your drives. Check your mobo manual which should detail the BIOS settings and show you where to check this.
