Hi all,
I recently ordered a new 1080ti from OC and installed it 10 days ago. All has been fine until yesterday when the PC would post but not boot. Every time the Windows logo appears the power shuts off.
I've tried multiple times, leaving power off for half an hour, etc. Replacing with the previous card (gtx 970) restores it to life again.
In order to get it working again with the new card, I have to take out the new card, put the old one in, boot up, shut down, take out the old card and then put the new one in. Then it works.
BIOS is up to date. I have discovered that if I go into BIOS and then exit without saving so it restarts, it then goes into Windows fine. Going through that sequence, of course, power doesn't shut off. Does that give any more clues?
Might it be a PSU problem? Most components are three years old:
Z97X Gaming 7 mobo
i7 4790K
TeamGroup Vulcan RED 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3 memory
But the PSU is about seven years old and was a Antec TruePower New Modular 650W.
I'm baffled!
Thanks for any help.
