Good morning all,

Just want a bit of info at remotes, it seems logitech are very hardly regarded in the universal remote world.

Have my eye on 3 of the remotes:

Harmony One
Harmony 900
Harmony 1100

I know each are in a different league when looking at the price, however apart from the looks of the 1100 is there really ~£300 worth of extras compared to say the Harmony One?

What would people recommend?

Thanks

Harmony one is ace, just got One myself and wondered why I never had one before!!

The 900/1100 just adds IR/RF capabilities and aa fancy big screen on the 1100 but the One is fantastic for the price.

RF is really useful. It allows the remote to control gear even when pointing elsewhere. That is more important than it seems at first.

One major reason to have any sort of advanced remote is to make the system simple to use. Macros are key to this.

RF comes in to its own when there is a long chain of commands with delays in a macro to allow the bits of gear some time to react. For example, your TV might take 10-15 seconds to power on fully from standby before it will allow you to select an input. That's a long time to be holding the remote just to make sure the rest of the commands reach the gear.

Love my Harmony One, It has replace eight seperate remotes that I used to have to have on the table and arm of the chair which made me feel like Jim Royle on steroides :) I especially like the makros, one button press and the Tv is switched on then the Blu-ray player and then the AV Receiver and everything then gets switched to the correct input.

Think I am swayed towards the 1100 for just the way it looks! Will be a nice xmas pressie :)

Is it possible to use this and cntrol something like XMBC or would I still require a wireless keyboard??
