Seems to work just fine for me. What exactly are you having problems with?

I must admit that my online experience/exposure of PlayStation Network is mainly from my interaction with my PS3. However I have some friends who have a PS4 and they have said that the online functionality is still leagues behind the Xbox experience.

Little things such as parties and friends requests etc. Download times of purchases (on good connections) chat still being a bit temperamental etc.

Given its a new console most of these things are probably down to launch demand/strain on the service. And I agree Xbox Live is not without its faults But IMO (which I understand is only an opinion) the online functionality of the PS Network is still a tad behind.

Not wanting to go into another X1 vs PS4 debate but from what I've heard the X1 is actually a step backwards from the 360 with regards to party chat/invites and even notifications. The PS4 is a lot better than the PS3. Chat works perfectly fine it's just the bundles headset is rubbish. And download speed are a LOT better.
Saying that I still think the 360 had the best idea with the guide button. Both the X1 and PS4 should have implemented something similar.

I never said that the Xbox one was better at managing that then the 360, just its a tad better than the PS4. So in short I couldn't agree more with what you have said.

All this is personal opinion of course. Each to their own.

Your mates don't know what they are talking about.

I have used party chat on the ps4 several times and it's working perfectly fine.

Also what is wrong with friend requests? You send a request ,they accept it, your now friends, is there a different method that MS use that is better?

Download times has nothing to do with ps4 but ISP's throttling them especially Virgin Media, so you cannot blame Sony for that, if your with another ISP it should work flawlessly therefore complaints about the speed should be aimed at VM.

I have owned both a xbox and a 360 and the ps4 is miles ahead of both of them imo, and so it should be. The only issue I can think of is that the bundled headset is crap, but what do you expect when they sell the package at a loss and they need to cut corners somewhere to keep costs down, i'd rather have the same console with a crap headset than a worse console with a better headset. Bare in mind the console is a lot cheaper than a XB1 and also a lot more powerful.

Multitasking is also flawless, so i can jump out of a game send a party invite and then jump back in within seconds, there's no lagg like there is on the 360.

This is a laughable post.

PS4's online service (not taking into account paid for PS+) is shocking. This means that to get a comparable (arguable) online service you still have to pay a monthly fee.
Others have already covered this...

"Dominant console" - I am glad you can see into the future ...

Also PS4 looks like it is going to be the dominant console this time around.

Considering PS4 has sold like 4.2m and XB1 sold 3m. How was my statement wrong. It certainly doesn't LOOK like a close race so far.

"Swearing in a room" - Get your head out of the clouds bud. Plenty of bad language goes on in both xbox live and playstation online gaming.

If he get's an Xbox one, be careful not to swear in the room, else he might get banned again, although I don't think a permaban.

Clearly you misunderstood what I was saying.

I'm not being funny, but please actually read my posts properly instead of responding in a way inconsistent with what I actually have said.

They are consoles, not a religion...
