Help please!! What should I do??

I'm looking at upgrading my graphics card but I'm thinking my current PSU (OC Z 520W Mod Stream) might not be up to the task and will struggle with the BFG 8800GTX Overclock 2 card I want to replace my HIS X1900 XT with...

Has anyone got any advice on what I should do?? Would be greatfully appreaited :)

Personally i think it will be fine.......

Everyone likes to overspec PSU wise....

Try googling for the FSP 400W Passive psu review.... you'll be impressed with what it has been run on, and some people here wouldnt regard FSP as a high quality PSU brand..... well i would, but anyway......check it out for yourself...
 
Well what might be the worst thing that could happen if I connected it all up as normal and it didnt work??

I was worried that I was on the edge as I was, let alone with a 8800GTX card!! :lol:

Take a look at this thread: HERE

Guys rig is similar to what you will have if you get the GTX.

Total usage of a power block with the PC, monitor, and other bits and pieces only came to 384 watts total. So the PC was using less. Maybe close to 300watts while running Superpi and 3DMark's nature demo.

I run my rig in sig (used to have an e6600 and titan amanda with 65watt peltier) on a 2+ year old tagan 580watt.

I think you'll be fine mate!

Thanks mate, thats good to know :D Means I can save even more money and just get the bits I need rather than worrying about what I dont :D

Where might I get a tester like the gent had in the other thread?? Would be interesting to see what my two rigs are using, as they are always on a full load on the CPU due to Boinc so both cores are always on 100% :)

Well, I'm aiming for two 24" monitors at some point, as the 19" models I have now, just dont have enough screen size! Besides, having a GTX seems rude not too ;)
