I seem to have lost a HDD :(

I have 3 x 320gb seagate 7200.10's. I decided to setup raid 0 for the first time on 2 of them. I transferred all important data that i wanted to keep on the 3rd drive then removed it from my pc to make sure i didn't accidently delete it. I then setup raid 0 on the other 2 drives formatted them and reinstalled xp. All seemed to go well. I powered down, put 3rd HDD back into pc and it isn't showing in windows at all. How do i get it to show up? What have i done wrong?

Please help, it has every single bit of data that i need on it

Is drive3 recognised by the BIOS at boot?

Is it showing in Windows Device Manager?

Is it showing in Disk Management? You might need to import it as a foreign disk here.

No idea i'm afraid. I'm not too clued up on these things. I really shouldn't of tried to setup raid

How do i check if they are all on the NF4 controller?

Ty for help btw

OK, that was easy. There is only the NF4 controller on that board.

Which settings did you change in the BIOS to enable RAID?

EDIT: In the NVRAID configuration menu did you enable RAID on all 4 SATA ports?

Ah hang on a sec, just noticed there is a yellow triangle in disk management thats says dynamic foreign.

I only enabled raid on 2 of the sata ports, wasn't sure if this was right or not so i went back and changed it a few times but the drive still wouldn't show

Yeah, that's the right thing to do.

However, do the import disks thing from my previous post and you'll be sorted.
