Help please!

Hi, i just received all the components in my sig.. and have put it all together.

Now i have two problems..

Monitor displays "No signal" and turns off

and

When i press eject on CD tray it will open and automaticly shut by itself... pretty fast.

Any idea whats causing these problems?

for the display issue, have you got the ram in the right slots?

cd issue, no idea sorry

You got the display connected to the right output/try the others.

TW3X4G1600C9D is the RAM i have... im pretty sure its compatible with my mobo :S.. and its all plugged in right.. /cry

You using crossfire at the moment? Pull a card out/try each on their own.

Reset the bios, try one stick of ram in all the slots/try the other stick/repeat.

not using crossfire atm, just tried resetting bios, and just tried both sticks seperatly..

no luck

Do you recon this could have anything to do with the processor..maybe its been moved or something.. because i had a little trouble fitting the cpu cooler..

Coolers usually are a bit stiff to fit, its normal, or is the titan fenrir a clamp through the back jobbie?

You got ALL the power cables connected? Including the 8pin atx.

Just realised the gfx card fan is making a pulsing huming sound (thought it was the cd drive at first)..... maybe this is the cause of the problem..

yeh clamp through the back.. and yes all power cables connected, including the 8pin

Erm, dont know if this is a problem but.. im using a 8pin power cable which came with the powersupply.... to connected the gfx card to the powersupply

Do both graphics card make this pulse/hum noise, can you see the fans spin on them? The noise could just be the air, did you use standoffs between case and motherboard.

You using the correct 8pin into the board, a 5770 uses a 6pin pci connector surely?

I'm running out of ideas.

When you reset the bios did you place the cmos jumper back on correct posistion, if it uses one?

Pull the power from the DVD drive and harddisk and boot.

Got access to another pc to try swapping bits.

one last suggestion.

Pull the CPU out and look carefully at all the pins, look down the rows for any bent/broken ones.

You did mention something about it moving?

Also check the contact area of the thermal compound/does it look like its made contact?

Last thing is to find someone to swap parts around.

I'm all out of ideas now, sorry.

I only read the thread quickly so it may have been mentioned but have you tried swapping out the graphics card for your other one?
