HELP PLEASE!

Hi,

I have the gigabyte EX58-UD5 and the OCZ Vertex 2 SSD drive but the drive is not being detected when I boot to the bios and so I can't install windows 7 onto it. Does anyone have any ideas please help. Thanks.

I tested it on my old PC worked fine. So confused!

I have tried both but originally the white one.

Do you think I need to load the motherboard controller drivers when loading the windows 7 CD?

OMG! I took out the battery. Put it back in. Plugged the SSD into SATA port 01. Booted up and BINGO! It's there!

WOOOO!

Now I just need to know if I should change the controller from IDE to AHCI. Im a bit confused on this issue.

Also why can't I use the 6G SATA ports. Surely that would make the drive quicker. No?

K so I've got Windows 7 installed. How do I check that my SSD drive is performing to the max it should?

Argh, Okay WTF. I had windows installed so Idecided to plug in my extra two hard drives. I did this and then the SSD disappears again. WTF?

Any ideas?
