Hi!

Last night I was doing some music composition work in Sibelius 5 for college. Today, when I turned my computer everything appeared to start normally but nothing has shown up on the screen.

I have turned the computer on and off many times but this is what I continually get:

1) Turn the PC on and get a blank screen.

2) Turn PC on see the screen to access the BIOS, then it goes blank again.

3) Turn PC on then it asks whether I want to "Load Startup Repair Launch (recommended)" or "Start Windows Normally". If I do the repair launch it says "Windows is loading files" and does nothing for 30 minutes. If I "Start Windows normally", it starts up saying "Starting Windows" but the logo doesn't form, I have left it for 20 minutes but nothing has changed.

4) I now turn the PC on and nothing appears on my monitor.

Please help.

I have a lot of work due for next week.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

a few things to try.

pull out off the motherboard, and re-seat back in the 24pin and 8/4 pin atx power cables.

try one stick of ram in each ram slot, rinse and repeat for the other stick.

try booting up without the harddrive attached, does the bios screen appear complaining about the lack of disk?

pull the sound card out and disconnect the dvd drive power source.

pull out and plug back i9n the two 6pin pcie cables to the 4870

Nope HDD is thankfully fine. I have reseated both RAM sticks in their slots. It now boots up perfectly again.

Thanks. I thought it could get very expensive.

By the way any case recommendations?

I was thinking of this setup?

Lancool Dragon-Lord PC-K62 Mid Tower Case with Window - Black

Lian Li PT-FN04 5.25" Bay Fan Controller - Black

I like the idea of a window and I also need it to be as quiet as possible. The case also comes with dust filters which is another expense saved.
