have amd phenom ii x4 840 3.2 ghz and ATI radeon 5670 1gb looking to OC with have my mates old scythe cooler tommorow so looking for help and advice for limits of cpu and gpu btw its on a Gigabyte GA-M68MT-S2 mobo

help will be much appreciated cheers

It is hard to give an exact limit on your OC because not many people have the exact same hardware and setup as you, so you should just overclock to what you feel comfortable with and of course, the max OC you can get.

However, for your CPU, I would aim for around about 3.8-4.0GHz. Don't forget to check your temperatures though!

My advice if your new to OC like me. Take it slow. Go up one level per time then run some tests. and as soon as its not stable go back to the last one. From my experience try not to have Voltage over 1.45 as thats when the CPU gets hot. Just an FYI AMD processors don't have the heat capacity of INTEL. I have my 1090t at 3.7 currently on air cooling with 60C max temp. :/

cheers tried a small oc yesterday on stock cooler took it off now but was stress tested at 3.5ghz and only got to 51 max so hoping to push for 3.8-4 ghz with scythe on
