Looks normal.

Google some images for GTX 480.

They all seem to have a couple of connectors which are slightly shorter than the rest.

Sorry for the confusion.

I was going to post that I couldn't see your picture.

It just took an age to load up.

other thing with old power supply it had a 4 pin supply to motherboard but new powersupply has 1; 8pin and 1; 4*4 pin supply ,i have 1 of the 4 pins installed like old 1 should i try the 8 pin?
will the motherboard need more power ?
why does it have a 8 pin connector on motherboard if 4 pin supply has been enough ?
cheers for any help :)

I think this is your problem mate. i dont think the pci slot is getting enough power. Plug the 8pin atx power cable into your mobo.

have done mate solid 8 pin installed on mboard, dont need to change anything in bios ?.
cards either broke or i cant see forest for tree's :D
if im running a nvidia card now i should be able to just plug new 1 in and away.

Try putting your 8800 in the first slot and the 480 in the second slot with your monitor connected to the 8800.

You should be able to boot into Windows and see if it recognises the 480.

If it doesn't then that suggests the 480 is faulty.

8800 in 1st slot and 480 in 2nd and it boots, plus there are green lights on back of 480(first time) but keyboard and mouse dont work."card in wrong place for sli"get screen output but no boot..
8800 1st slot and 480 in 3rd slot and long beep with 2/3 short beeps.no screen
so card broke or my pci slot not able to take /use this card ?
to much power for motherboard ?
cant think of much else other than stripping pc.
ati haven't left a code on my system :) lol will try again later on today.
cheers y'all

card broke ?
motherboard broke?
i haven't updated motherboard since i got it 2/3 years ago,but to me looks like pci slot isn't up to it.cant think of anything else.

hi, so after sending card back seems it works so must be motherboard and seeing as other cards work in it ,all i can think of is motherboard update .
