Help please

NB-A] 1 5/16-18x3 1/2in. bolt ($0.29USD)

1 = number of units, 5/16 is the width of the bolt, 18 is the tap size (threads per inch), 3 1/2in is the length of the bolt

Just use a wing nut and washer same effect

And the actual bolt sizes are not important just use common sense and get ones that are big enough to do the job without being stupidly big.

Once you know the thickness of the wood you are using and how many layers you want to go through then you know the length of bolt you need.

Nice basic design but for me I would need to double leg the front strut as he has it done to the pedals sit either side of the strut but my wheel has three pedals :)

well he has chosen a rather strange way of writing it but I think he has it thickness x lenght x width

and those are in inches.

For the uprights and struts and such 22x50mm wood should do you fine and for the base and mounting plate mdf or ply should suffice and again common sense should help you figure a size for that. but he looks to be using 8 inch wide pieces for that. (200mm)

---edit---

Just figured out his writing system and he is using mixed values.

The fact I lived in Canada is what let me figure it out since I understand how they sell wood there.

[W-A] 2 1x2x4 ($0.78USD ea.) = wood 1 inch x 2 inches x 4 feet long (25mm x 50mm x 1220mm)
[W-B] 1 1x4x4 ($1.56USD) = wood 1 inch x 4 inches x 4 feet long (25mm x 100mm x 1220mm)
[W-C] 1 1x8x4 ($3.36USD) = wood 1 inches x 8 inches x 4 feet long (25mm x 200mm x 1220mm)

These are then cut up to get the various parts

Trying to get something wide enough for the 3rd piece but I don't think they are available.

And are these screws right

Just use a sheet of either plywood or mdf which you should be able to buy in half sheets and cut out a piece the right size that is assuming you mean the piece for the mount and the foot?

If you want them thick just cut two identical and either wood glue or screw them together to increase thickness.

As for bolts nearly anything will work so long as it is long enough to go through what you want to clamp plus have enough left over for the washer and wing nut to go on.

Since you are modifying the original plan I can't give you exact lengths as that will be dictated by the thickness of the wood you use.

If in doubt buy them too long and you can always cut them down.
