Can Anyone Help Please, I got a Plextor M6e M.2 PCI-E 256GB Solid state Hard Drive (PX-G256M6e)For my Asus Ranger Z97 Motherboard , Fitted it in the M.2 slot & Screw but nothing showing in bios , I have the latest bios also
MAXIMUS VII RANGER BIOS 1003 2014/07/08.

I taken it out and back in and nothing still , half a day lost.

Hi Darren. Do you have 1 or 2 graphics cards in your Motherboard as for the M.2 drive to work it needs to use the PCI-E channel that is taken up by the second red slot on your motherboard. It should work though as that Motherboard does have a PCI-E M.2 Slot on it.

Hi abarrass , All ok now , I did not have M.2 Mode enabled in (Onboard Device Configuration) in the bios ,

as by default, PCIe4_3 slot runs at X2 mode with all slots enabled and M.2 Connector is Disabled.
Thanks

Did you have an SSD before this? If so, I'd be interested in knowing if you can tell any difference when using your computer as normal - ie: office work, internet browsing, gaming, etc?

I had the Samsung 840 EVO 250 GB SSD Solid State Drive MZ-7TE250LW
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-168-SA&groupid=701&catid=2104&subcat=2394 that is good

but this Plextor SSD

faster booting up ,installing windows updates , Not played any game/s yet , but I know there be improvements at them speeds , internet browsing be more on ISP & Website server internet speeds
smaller more space in case with less cables :)

Thanks for the feedback Darren. I have been doing some testing on these drives as well and I am preparing a post with a lot of speed checks on the current best sellers. So I will get that posted this week.

Sounds as though the benefits of SSD drives can be felt once it starts getting close the PCIe bus.

Can you buy PCIe cards with M.2 slots? If so, that would be a perfect workaround for my SATA 2 ports.

I Think Plextor started out doing them Slotted into the Plextor PCI-E Adaptor card & now just the M.2 SSD on its own for the new range of Z97 Mother boards.

Type : Plextor PX-G256M6e ) into youtube you see them being review.
