Pc quite simply will not boot. It is a new 2600k with an Asus p8p67 mobo. There is power getting to the pc but no power to the mouse and keyboard. The monitor receives no signal from the gpu also. The onboard sb_pw remains (or is on green) I think the dram led flashe red once. Throughout the week the pc has switched itself off and rebooted once or twice, Tonight it was working fine. I went downstairs to get a cup of coffee and returned to the situation mentioned above. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Clearing the CMOS will of course ruin the pre overclock if it was indeed a pre overclocked bundle

Yeah thats why I havent tried it. (pre overclocked from OCUK)

Other parts are His 6950 GPU, Ocz 780 power supply. Processor 2600k

Forgot to mention the harddrive led on the case no longer lights as well.

Try usual things like a single stick of RAM, minimum bits needed.

You dont need a harddrive to get it to post and enter the BIOS.

Also try other USB ports for the mouse, keyboard.

I will try the ram tomorrow sigh too tired. Any more grief and its going back the shop. Only had it about 9 days. Thanks for your help.

Bizzaire it all kicked in and back to normal, if that is the correct word after leaving it for 30 mins and then doing a soft boot. Didnt try the method suggested with the ram. Wonder if this provides more scope for understanding both what I need to do or whats going on. Ive been in to power management and turned sleep to never in case this is what started the problem but am wondering if a bios update might be necessary?

Get on the phone to where ever you purchased it from and tell them that its unreliable. New PC's, OC'd or not, should be stable. When you get a new PC that isn't stable it usually doesn't get better over time, its not like leaving a cut to heal, or something...

Yeah I think I will send them a webnote as a precaution to see what they will advise.

Just found this:

Asus P8P67 Pro sleep problem

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So I overclocked my 2600k to 4.5GHz (stable @ 1.28v) for the first time yesterday and all of the sudden I'm having problems with sleep mode. Whenever I try to resume from sleep the computer looks like it turns back on (all fans start up again) but the monitor stays off and the keyboard and mouse are unresponsive.

This only started happening after I overclocked. I was running my 2600k @ stock and sleep mode worked just fine.

Anyone know how I can fix this (besides reducing the overclock back to stock)?

Thanks

Solved!!! Had to disable PLL Overvoltage.

Where is pll overvoltage and will it effect my overclock?

my monitor would not receive a signal at 1 point from my gpu after bsod, so i tried my ram in the other 2 slots and worked as normal again, but then told me a problem with ram, ran each stick on there own and ran a test and all was ok, with 2 in a different matter :( so both gone back to test and replace if need be.

my mobo in the sabertooth p67 and 8gb g.skill sniper 1600mhz

might be worth sending back as faulty :(
