Hi

Hope someone can help me.

I am putting together my new pc and cant work out which way to position the cpu fan.

the case i am using is the raven rv02b and the fan is the Gelid Tranquillo,

which way do i want the air flow? Hot air Going up is my guess, with the fan part at the bottom sucking in air to the heatsink. but i want to check before applying the thermal paste.

Any help would be great.

depending on where you have your fans in the case.

if you have one at the rear of the case get the gelid in place to force the air out that way.

Hi

In the case that i am using there are three fans at the bottom that i think pull in cold air and one at the top (not including psu fan at the back)

So i am a bit confused (first time build)

edit:

ahhh ok, checked the case and it does appear to be in the base.

your original thoughts in your first post sound right, face the cooler down so it pulls the cold air in from the fans in the base and then pushes the air up towards the top fan.

The case fans draw air from the base and expel out the top, I would position the cooler so the air is going the same way.

To quote the RV02 manual: "If you are installing a tower-style CPU cooler, we recommend that the CPU fan blows upward to work with RV02-E’s overall airflow" :)
