i bought a gigabyte ga-ex58-ud5 motherboard from overclockers the other week and yesterday finally got round to setting up my new system but i have a problem already, got a western digital cavair black 500gb hard drive that will not show up in the standard cmos no matter what setting under sata that i put it at including auto detect, i also enabled sata under integrated peripherals. i have also tried different cables, just haven't got a clue what the problem is or if the hard drive is even working. the problem with me is that i am used to using ide hard drive where you just bung it in and bob's your uncle, any help or ideas on how i can proceed would be appreciated. forgot to mention that the hard drive is brand new straight out the box.
