Hi
some of you may know iv just built my first pc, all was fine untill 10 minutes ago
I have the GTX 670 graphics card and was experiencing the drivers failing, so i did a bit of research and found a thread stating a fix. this was to unistall the drivers and revert back to an older driver.

As i started to uninstal my drivers for the card, suddernly i lost my screen (i thought was normal)

nothing happened for ages so i restarted and still have no screen or lights on mouse/gamepad etc.

Iv tried different cables plugged in to the mobo and card, tested the screen on another computer, the fans are on and the pc seems to be on but the screen, mouse or anything doesnt seem to to be working.

any clues as to what to do?

thanks

ok i did all that

the problem is now it wont let me instal the drivers becasue it cant detect the hardware (not plugged in) and when i plug it in (the card) the dispaly doesnt come on at all...

stuck now haha

(just what i need wen im going away tomorrow :(

Try using the custom install rather then the express install and only install the driver also use a VGA cable instead of a HDMI.

it doesnt even get to the point where i can choose, it unpacks and then starts automatically, but says cant detect hardware then automatically stops.

ok ran the disc

choose the set-up icon and same thing, it starts then says it cannot find the graphics card.

is there a way to manually install the drivers? theres so many files i wudnt know where to start

i have uninstalled them all yes

if i plug the card in, the display will not turn on at all no matter where the cable is plugged.
is there a way to plug the card in and get the computer to boot ignoring the card?

its already on high performance

im reading another thread and have tried a system restore.. it seems to have fixed the problem (well back to how it was anyways)

the thing is, i want to install an older driver because the current driver keeps failing and cutting my display off..

if i try to install it now, wont it stop me saying i have a newer version etc etc blah blah blah?

thanks for your help so far guys

If you've uninstalled the newer version you shouldn't have any drivers on your system and can install an older version if you wish.

thats what i thought, but the problem is it wont let me install any drivers unless the card is plugged in, and if i plug it in i cannot get the display to work at all..

its ok atm, ill put up with it failing for now (doesnt happen often) and update it wen its updated i guess :)

RMA?

well at least once a day the screen freezes and goes blank for a few seconds then it automatically corrects itself.. i read somewhere the fix was to use an older driver but iv got stuff i need to do tonight so havent really got the time to fix it.

ill try and update the driver if i can see if that makes any difference.

the worst thing i was planning on buying a second gtx 670 next week for eyefinity lol..

its making me wonder if the cards worth it or not haha

I would send it back because after a quick google it's not just yourself with this issue. You could try a clean format of your system but I would deem its the card at fault.

UPDATE: NVIDIA Potentially Recalling All GTX 670, 680, 690 Kepler Video Cards
