Hi all,

My old DFI CFX3200 (s939) machine always had a problem with stability with ORTHOS, but I haven't had a week (and I think I'd probably need a week!) to sit down and learn everything about the board and what each setting does with regards to system stability.

Basically my problem is - after 20-30 minutes of ORTHOS Stress CPU test the pc shuts down, but the northbridge isn't particularly hot to the touch, and neither is the southbridge. The processor has a max temp of 55 degrees with a core voltage of 1.502V (IHS removed + Arctic Cooling Freezer 64)
(RAM voltage = 2.72V)

This happens at all frequencies that I've tested (HTT between 700 and 1200, RAM between 300 - 400MHz, CPU: 2.0 - 2.8GHz)

Full specs:
Board: DFI CFX3200 (Latest BIOS)
CPU: AMD 3800x2
RAM: 2x1GB PC3200 (Value RAM)
GPU: Sapphire x1950Pro

Thanks for reading - I know this is an unusual request and people making threads here probably don't even remember how to clock a s939 machine ;)

When you say 'shutdown' does it just reboot? If so then I'd start looking at the RAM, run memtest86+ on it and see what it reports.

Thanks for the reply, when I say shutdown I mean my rig completely powers down, I thought it was probably because something is overheating after 20 minutes of stressing but all the temperature sensor readings are within a safe range, the BIOS is set to have no thermal shutdown temperature for the CPU and the NB + SB heat sinks are only slightly warm to the touch.
