Help recovering data

My friend's computer has recently gone down and as i suspected it was the hard drive at the root of the problem.

I've attached it as the slave drive to my computer and started to drag what files i can across, however, there was more than one user on his pc and each have passwords - i can attain these but cannot access the files (my document's) from the different profiles. There is no option to enter anything!

Any ideas? As there is some pretty important stuff on them.

IIRC, you should be able to Right Click the folder and go to Properties. Then click on the Security Tab, and then Advanced.

Once in there i think its the 2nd or 3rd tab along, you should be able to take ownership (tick the box, bottom left "Replace Owner blah blah....), and then add the user "Everyone" for full access. Then you can drag the files off.
