Help Request - iPhone setup for a child

Merry Xmas all.

My son has received an iPhone from Santa, and I need help getting him access to the Apple store etc. He previously had an android phone and I've input his Google account with no problems, so he has email and contacts etc.. I just need to get him access to the Apple Store for Apps now.

I have an apple account that I'm happy for him to associate with, but I can't set up family sharing as I don't have an apple device of my own. Is my only option to set up his phone as if it were mine? The drawback with that is that he would need to know my password; not good!

Basically, I need to know if I can link his account to mine even if I don't have an apple device of my own.

Can't you just create him a new Apple account? Just add your card details to his account? Although that sounds dangerous in itself.

The problem is when I input his DOB, it says he needs to link to an adult account.

Put a fake dob in. But one you can remember? Other than that you'd have to create an adult account and link it. You can create an apple apple a on their website.
