Hi Guys,

I have been asked to take photos for my brother in-laws wedding, which will be taking place in India in December this year. Currently I have a Nikon D5100 with 18-105mm VR Lens.

My total budget would be around £500

I need advice whether the below are a good choice;

Nikon SB-700 Speedlight (http://www.jessops.com/online.store/categories/products/nikon/sb-700-speedlight-78668/show.html)
Nikon AF-S 35mm f1.8 G DX Lens (http://www.jessops.com/online.store...ikon/af-s-35mm-f1-8-g-dx-lens-76070/show.html)

Please let me know your thoughts and recommandations.

Bashy.

If you don't mind the thought of getting a different flash I highly recommend a Yongnuo speedlight. I have the Yn565 EX which is a brilliant speedlite and I plan on getting a Yn568 EX in the not so distant future.

The Yongnuo speedlights are actually really well made and perform brilliantly. The light output of the 565 and 568 is the same as that of the much more expensive Canon 580EX II with guide numbers of 58 for example.

I am certainly very happy with mine and I know that a lot of other people are too. But if you want to spend a lot more money for no real benefit then go ahead :)

I recommend buying Understanding Flash Photography by Bryan Peterson , there's a whole load of very helpfull stuff for the inexperienced , I used to use a 580exII and thought I knew a few things but .this book has made me think differently about how and when to use a flash
